When is the best time to flea my girl during pregnancy to avoid any complications?

We would strongly recommend not to de-flea your girl whilst she is pregnant, we would recommend as soon as your girl comes into to season to de-flea her, this should then protect her for the duration of her pregnancy etc. If for any reason your girl does catch fleas during her pregnancy we would recommend for you to contact your vet to establish the best course of action.

When is the best time to worm my girl during pregnancy to avoid any complications?

We would strongly recommend not to worm your girl whilst she is pregnant, we would recommend as soon as your girl comes into to season to worm her, this should then protect her for the duration of her pregnancy etc. If for any reason you establish your girl does have worms during her pregnancy we would recommend for you to contact your vet to establish the best course of action.

Can I bring my girl to you for testing for me to use someone else’s stud dog?

Unfortunately this is not possible, we are only insured if using one of our stud dogs.

What happens if I can only make one of the mating’s?

We would always recommend 2 mating’s for the best results 48 hours apart, however if you are unable to attend your second mating this could reduce the chances of pregnancy and also could reduce the size of the litter if your girl is confirmed pregnant.

How long does the AI and Testing procedure take on the day?

Testing takes around 5 minutes to complete, if your girl is ready on the back of the test the AI procedure takes around 20 minutes to complete.

If breeding a pedigree dog how will I know if mine and the chosen stud dog of yours are too closely related to breed from?

We always advise if you are choosing one of our stud dogs to produce KC registered puppies you check on the Kennel Club website to check both dogs inbreeding score. You just need both dogs KC registered names to input into the KC database and this will give you a % score. It’s recommended any % under 6.25 % is acceptable & compatible to breed from.

What do I need to bring with me on the day ?

Just yourself and your girl is fine. Please make sure your girl has a collar on for us to hold her securely during the procedure.

Do you have parking?

We have ample secure parking and lots of space for you to manoeuvre and to turn around in.

How would it work if I needed to bring my children along on the day?

Whilst we would not recommend for you to bring your children along on the day we do understand that childcare is not always available when your girl is ready to be mated. We do have secure parking and a place for your children to sit if required.

What do I do if I’m running late for my appointment?

We do respectfully ask for you to attend your timed appointment prompt to avoid a knock-on effect for other client’s. If for any reason you are running late etc please call us straight away with as much notice as possible to make us aware of your delay.

What do I do if I need to cancel my appointment?

Whilst we would strongly advise against cancelling your appointment as we will have reserved your visit with our stud dog calendar & diary and would have no doubt had to decline other customer appointments on the confirmation of your appointment. In the event you do have to cancel please give us as much notice as possible, to give us the chance to fill your appointment with other interested clients.

Are there any extra costs involved on the day excluding the stud fee?

All costs for Testing, AI and stud are included in the one-off stud fee. There are no further costs incurred or involved for your visit.

When do I pay the stud fee?

The stud fee is to be paid on the first completed Artificial Insemination of your girl.

How can I pay?

You can bring cash along with you on the day or alternately can pay by bank transfer. We do not accept credit card, cheques or PayPal payments.

When is the earliest I will know if my Dogs Pregnant?

We would recommend that you have your girl Scanned using an ultrasound machine 30 days after her first Artificial insemination to detect if she’s pregnant.
